Spotlight: Osserva.io Sales Intelligence




Highlighting a new series here on Insider Apps, we will be spotlighting a new service or software that we find to be particularly interesting. Importantly, these are only reviewing new services, not companies that are already well-established. We also receive a good deal of incoming applications, and so when we sift though them we often find little nuggets of gold.

The Qualities

Todays gold is Osserva.io. To be clear, this is less of a review of Osserva, and more of a feature of it. It simply would not be fair review something when we are only hearing from secondary sources for example. Our approach is more about the substantive qualities of the service and how it resonates with the rest of the ecosystem.

Simply put, Osserva is a sales intelligence platform... one of many actually. What separates this one however is the depth of analysis and data that is given about potential leads and target companies. Let's say for example you are selling software into the music education industry. You sign up for Osserva, and you start getting new listings every day of the decision makers at schools, private tutoring companies, and large distributors. You can start cold email campaigns or target these individuals with programmatic advertising and funnels. Nothing special so far, right? Well on top of that, you get in-depth information about every lead. Things like favorite sports teams, family make up, hobbies, and more. Items that your sales people can use to connect with them on a deeper more personal level.

So you get the perfect targets and all the research done for you straight away.

Here's the other aspect we love. There is a sales-on-demand feature which uses their in-house sales staff for your company. So if you have a limited sales staff or have staff wearing alot of hats, this can be autonomous growth for your company.

They also have a A.I system trained on client sales pitches and data that can assist a human sales call in real time. For example, if you are discussing the features of your product and mention a "30 day trial", the A.I transcript will pick up that the 30 day trial was mentioned but the salesperson forgot to mention that it allows for multiple team members to try it as well. So after the lead finishes talking, the salesperson can talk about this additional selling point.

The Breakdown

Osserva has much more than the benefits we listed here, but we have talked to two of their clients so far and these seem to be the most attractive bits.

Osserva seems to operate between technology and service, as they actually do the analysis of leads/companies for you. At present, they don't seem to offer their platform as a self-serve option. However, you can start with their basic plan and scale up as the sales roll in.

As far as we can tell, Osserva starts at an enterprise level and costs several thousand dollars per month. Of the clients we spoke to, both of them increased their spending with Osserva based on the sales they were receiving. One company mentioned that they may have plateaued a bit after several months but that they were still "quite happy" with it.
