The Shine app, a leading platform for inclusive mental health and wellness assistance, has been acquired by Headspace Health, the provider of the world's most accessible and comprehensive digital mental health platform. Shine will improve Headspace Health's capacity to give its expanding international member base more diverse and inclusive self-care content.

Founded in 2016, the Shine app has served over 45,000 paying subscribers and reached over six million people by providing self-guided content, such as daily meditations, self-care courses, personalized support, and online workshops led by outside experts and Shine's welcoming community.

Marah Lidey and Naomi Hirabayashi, co-founders and co-CEOs of Shine, will join Headspace Health and take on senior positions on the product and marketing teams. Along with Lidey and Hirabayashi, Headspace Health is adding a skilled team of engineers, client success, and marketing executives from Shine to enhance the organization's mental health strategy, content, and experiences.

The Shine app was recognized as "Best App of the Year" by Apple (2020, 2018) and Google and had an NPS of 84 and more than 30,000 five-star reviews (2019). Shine provides services to over 90 enterprise clients through its Shine at Work platform and its direct-to-consumer business.

Some Shine content will be included in Headspace Health's consumer and business products, including its Leadership Workshop Series, ongoing webinars, and in-app experiences.

The agreement's terms are being kept secret.
